- March 2004 Successfully received over £5,000
funding from Rural Business Networking to develop and market the
chamber.
- February 2004 We successfully lobbied the
NYCC to let traders keep their A-Boards to advertise their businesses.
- 2003 We successfully campaigned to SDC to
raise the Britannia Car Park barriers to allow coaches to park
on York race meeting dates.
- 2003 We ran the window display competitions
for the retail sector of the town, in support of Britain in Bloom
2003. There was a spring display and the summer theme was ‘Flower
Power’.
- 2003 We are now in partnership with Tadcaster
in Bloom and the achievements of this year show for themselves.
Best improved town 2003 award was given to Tadcaster.
- November 2003 We met with NYCC Traffic Consultation
to oppose the use of speed humps in the High Street. NYCC
are considering the removal of these humps.
- May 2003 We worked with Tadcaster Community
police officer Liz Yung in setting up the ‘fight-back scheme’
for the protection of businesses from known criminals.
- May 2003 We brought Broadband in to the
town when we had to raise the numbers from 2-350 registrants,
this was achieved by the campaigning in partnership with Ush Websites
Ltd. We held an IT presentation working with BT and North Yorkshire
Chambers of commerce in the Riley Smith Hall of which over 200
people attended.
- 2002/03 We sponsored the Bay Horse football
team.
- December 2002 & 2003 We support the
Tadcaster Illuminations by sponsoring the main Christmas Tree
in Kirkgate.
- June 2002 We supported The Queen’s
Jubilee celebrations and ran the window competition for the children
- March 2002 We became affiliates of York
& North Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce, where numerous benefits
ranging from health schemes to Discounted insurances etc.
- February 2002 We held a public meeting to
display the developing plans for Tadcaster by Samuel Smith Brewery
- November 2001 The sponsoring of the Gold
Card costing £500 for Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool.
